#Free Roman Imperial Historical #Erotica by Regina Kammer

Hadrian and Sabina: A Love Story is free for a limited time!

My Imperial Roman historical erotica epic, Hadrian and Sabina: A Love Story, is free on Amazon for five days only: May 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7!

Hadrian and Sabina is pretty intense historical erotica – heavy on the history and the sex. There are definitely romantic elements, though. In fact there are four different love stories involving five different people (so, yeah, some crossover there with the pairings). And there is a nod to the paranormal with brief appearances by gods and goddesses.

There is also a dastardly over-sexed villain so some of the erotic scenes are not for the faint of heart. The villain is an entirely made up character to satisfy my exploration of a centuries old question: why did historians and writers in antiquity believe Hadrian hated his wife Sabina?

There are plenty of real-life historical personages in the story. First and foremost, of course, is the Roman emperor Hadrian (born 76 CE, reigned 117-138 CE), plus his wife Sabina and her family, Hadrian’s beloved youth Antinous, the emperor Trajan, the librarian and biographer Suetonius, etc., etc. Let’s just say if you love multi-character historical epics with lots of sex, you’ll love this book!

After this freebie five days, Hadrian and Sabina will continue to be free under the Kindle Unlimited program but only until May 29th. In June, I’ll be launching the epub edition of Hadrian and Sabina on all retailer platforms. I will keep the paperback edition of Hadrian and Sabina in Amazon’s Matchbook program where you can buy the paperback on Amazon and get the Kindle edition for free.

So if you’ve ever been curious about why my author tagline is "Erotica for the Hardcore Historian" you’ll discover the reason by reading Hadrian and Sabina: A Love Story. This epic novel is quintessential Erotica for the Hardcore Historian. It even includes a bibliography. And for five days it's free!

My Favorite Christmas Things

The Naughty Chances anthology is now available – click here!  It includes my Christmas story, Sophie’s Christmas Gargoyle.  Most people don’t automatically thing “gargoyle” when we talk about Christmas, but for some reason I do.  This is actually my second Christmas gargoyle story. The first one, A Gargoyle’s Christmas, is currently out of print, but I hope to have it available again before next Christmas. In the meantime, you can get your Christmas gargoyle fix from the story in Naughty Chances, along with lots of other terrific winter and holiday set tales.

Why gargoyles at Christmas?  I have no idea. I set up the trope in my first story that gargoyles can only take human form during the short days before and after the winter solstice, which makes them naturals for the season. Why did I do that?  I don’t know. It just seemed like a cool idea and was a great way to build tension to the stories. The person who loves them has to be able to show they love them just as they are before the gargoyle can become fully human year-round.

So, now, a few of my other favorite holiday things:

  • Outdoor light displays: the bigger, gaudier, more raucous the better!
  • Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks: I have to limit myself to only a couple per season, but it’s a favorite treat.
  • Chocolate chip cookies –  I once asked my mom for the recipe for her chocolate chip cookies, and she handed me a package of Nestle’s morsels, pointed to the back, and said, “There it is” Dang those are good!
  • Candles, especially scented ones.
  • Wrapped presents under the tree. It’s all about the anticipation.
  • Watching my kids and now my grandkids unwrapping those presents.  The excitement and enthusiasm is so contagious.

What are your holiday favorites?

Excerpt from Hot As Hades by Regina Kammer

Blurb:After living in Hell for four months, Persephone returns home to the mortal realm. But can home truly be home without the man she loves?

Hades slumped in his golden throne, drumming his fingers on his knee, his other hand barely holding his blood-red wine goblet. Tiny waves of fragrant liquor sloshed over the rim as he balanced the cup with two fingers on either side of the stem.

A ker scurried over to refill his cup every time it reached half empty. After the tenth time he waved the servant away. The attempts by his staff to satisfy his every desire were getting bothersome and tiring.

He had only one desire. And she was back home visiting her damn mother. A growl of displeasure rose in his throat. He was expected to wait how many months? Eight?

Zeus had promised his daughter, then had made good on the promise. The maiden had been exactly where the God of Gods had said she would be.

Hades stared at the golden chair next to him. His queen should be sitting at his side at that very moment. Even the usually fierce Kerberos looked dejected lying on his pillow between the thrones, three chins atop two crossed paws. The canine guard sighed as his three pairs of eyes stared dolefully at the empty seat his mistress used to occupy.

Hades downed the contents of the half-filled wine glass. Damn it all to Hell! It wasn’t right. He had captured the maiden fair and square and then her mother had to go and ruin it all.

He threw the goblet into the fire pit fronting the dais. Shards of glass exploded in a dazzling display of gold flames tipped with flares of white.

Gold like her hair. White like that dangerously sexy slip of a dress she had been wearing when he first grabbed her. The filmy fabric had exaggerated the tender curves of her nubile body. Before they made love for the first time, he had easily torn the chiton clean off.

Fuck. He was hard just thinking about it.

Hades gripped the arms of the throne chair, futilely digging his nails into the hot metal, then stood.

Well, maybe he’d just go grab her right back.

Excerpt from LOVE POTION #69 by Alexa Silver

From the NAUGHTY HEARTS boxed set - Available February 1st

“Hi, Jenna. I come bearing food.” He held up a bag, and she figured he’d given Rebecca her portion. She watched, admiring his tall frame as he locked the door and fiddled with the “come back in an hour” sign, adjusting the numbers to the next hour.

“Hi, Keith,” she replied with a little smirk. He sure wasn’t bad to look at, and there were worse lunch partners to have by far.

“Rebecca said we should eat back in the kitchen. Just you and me?” he asked.

“Simple and free,” she shot back, quoting a lyric from one of their favorite songs. They were karaoke monsters who’d discovered a few shared favorite songs, mostly ’70s classics.

He turned back to her, regarding her with a little smirk of his own. “How…Valentiney,” he said, and she could feel him taking in her red sweater and the infinity scarf with gold hearts all over it. Okay, she was kind of a holiday cliché, but the sweater wasn’t so bad and at least she’d paired it with black jeans and boots.

“Unlucky in love has to look the part,” she shot back.

He’d removed his coat and the brown sweater he wore warmed the angular planes of his face, the jeans hugging his long legs. His eyeglasses had fogged up a little and he removed them, wiping the lenses on his sweater.

“You’re just going to smear them, Keith. Here, let me.” She had some cleaning wipes in her purse, under the counter. He came closer, handing her his glasses, green eyes adorably squinted, and she caught her breath at just how gorgeous he was, her hand shaking.

“Watch out!” His eyes widened just as she reached out, sweeping over the display of vials, skittering them across the glass display counter and…

“NO! That’s a couple hundred dollars’ worth of—Oh, shit!”

She grappled to catch the last few vials, but the first half dozen were toast. Keith lunged forward, head smacking the edge of the counter with a pained groan, and he bobbled one vial, but the rest crashed to the ground, shattering and sending up shards of perfume, glitter and glass.

“Watch out, Keith!” Even though she knew she was too late, Jenna lunged too, her booted heel slipping on the muck. With a yelp, she crashed on top of Keith, sending them both careening to the ground.

Great. Just great. Happy frickin’ Valentine’s Day!
