I'm so excited about the release of ARCTIC BITE and wanted to share a teaser with you.
Arctic
Bite
Forgotten
Brotherhood, Book Two
Being immortal
doesn’t mean you can’t die. It just means you’re damn hard to kill.
When Alexei Medvedev joined the Forgotten Brotherhood—paranormals hired to assassinate other paranormals—he knew it wouldn’t be a cake walk. But his next target is one of Death’s own Reapers gone rogue. For the first time since he started this gig, “damn hard to kill” feels more like “damn near impossible.”
Tracking Cassie Dobbs brings him to a remote bar in small-town Alaska, where this hot-as-hell Reaper is casually serving drinks, as if she doesn’t have a bounty on her head from Death himself. Alexei is dangerously intrigued. Everyone in the Brotherhood knows the first rule: don’t fall for your target.
But Alexei soon has bigger problems to face than an unexpected attraction. They only send assassins after those who deserve to die…or so he’s been made to believe. Now that he’s met Cassie, though, he’s not so sure.
What if everything he’s been told is a lie, and the person he’s been sent to kill is the only one who knows the truth?

TEASER:
Alexei
might not be as dangerous as his leader, but he was very deadly in his own
right. It would be smart to steer clear of him, but she’d much rather run
toward him. So, kissing him made perfect sense, even though they were being
hunted.
His
lips were warm and salty, just like the French fries he’d eaten. Yum. His chest
was conveniently bare, since he’d only pulled on a pair of jeans after their
shower. He was the sexiest man she’d ever seen—and she’d been around long
enough to be an authority—with his long hair and his full beard covering the
lower portion of his face. Not to mention his huge biceps and abs of steel.
He
fell back suddenly, taking her with him. She laughed, clutching his arm for
support. It was like holding on to a massive tree trunk. He was so strong, so
courageous, but not even he could save her.
Fate
would eventually catch up with her. It was only a matter of time. Running
forever wasn’t an option. But she wouldn’t regret her actions because they’d
led her right to this moment.
“You’re
thinking,” he complained, more growled, really. The deep rumble vibrated
through her.
“Sorry.”
She turned until she was lying flat on top of him, peering down at his
amazingly vivid blue eyes. With his white and brown hair and his thick beard,
he could have walked off the set of a Viking television show. Minus the
tattoos. He didn’t have any.
He
eased his big fingers into her hair, stroking the short strands. “It’s okay.”
And
it was. She could see it in his face. He was simply happy to be with her. What
an amazing gift. In her very long life, no one had made her feel so special.
“We
should make plans.” That would be the smart thing to do, but he continued to
run his fingers through her hair, thoroughly distracting her. “Alexei.”
His
big body shuddered. “I love it when you say my name.”
Her
heart skipped a beat when he said the “L” word. “Alexei,” she repeated, wanting
to give him as much of herself as she could.
“Cassie,”
he whispered.
“Cassandra.”
Her real name tumbled from her lips.
“Cassandra
Dobbs.”
“No,
the last name is made up. I’m simply Cassandra.” All of them only had a single
name. There was no need for anything more. There were no true bonds of
affection, no real kinship or laughter. There was only the job.
Rolling
over, he took her with him, so she was on her back with him looming over her.
He leaned down until their foreheads were touching. “You aren’t simply
anything. You’re the most amazing woman in the entire world.”
Wow,
he might not say much, but when he did it was really special.
